The former executive director of the mainland Nova Scotia branch of the Elizabeth Fry Society has been charged with fraud and theft. 51 year old Tammy Gloade of Eastern Passage is accused of taking funds from the non-profit and putting them into her own personal bank account. The organization, which advocates for women and girls in the justice system, was defrauded of almost $13,000.

A 64 year old woman was airlifted to Halifax yesterday after a crash between a motorcycle and an SUV. The woman, who was driving the motorcycle, was driving in Lunenburg County when the accident happened. The 3 people in the SUV were treated at the scene for minor injuries. No word yet on any charges.

A Halifax man is facing charges after he fled police, leaving his 5 year old son sleeping in the backseat of his car. The 31 year old, who police haven’t named yet, is facing a total of 4 charges. He’s due in court in Dartmouth in October.
