A 60 year old man died in an overnight house fire in Clark’s Harbour on Wednesday. The man’s body was found after firefighters from Shelburne County were able to control the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Police have conducted their first raid of an illegal cannabis store since marijuana legalization came into effect last month. Police seized more than 3 kilograms of cannabis, edibles & a knife at the GreenTree dispensary on the Bedford Highway Wednesday morning. They’ve charged 3 people including a 40 year old Dartmouth man & 2 women from Bedford, aged 30 & 20.

If you have any old paintings lying around the house you might want to get them appraised. A Maud Lewis painting purchased for $10 fifty years ago sold at an auction this week in Toronto for over $22,000. It was one of Lewis’s most iconic pieces, the ‘Three Black Cats’ which was originally purchased by an Ontario resident, who passed the painting down to her children and their children.
