Rain today. 5mm. High 17.

A farmer in Cooks Brook is warning the public after someone stole some of his livestock. Melvin Burns says he’s lost more than several pigs, 9 piglets and 40 laying hens. This equals a $5000 loss – which would typically pay for hay for the winter months. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

No charges will be laid against police officers in the December 2016 death of a teenage boy following a foot chase in Sydney Mines. 15 year old Kobe Pink died when he fell off a cliff after leaving a house party. The evidence confirmed that there was no contact between police and Pink and therefore all charges against police were dropped.

Another man has been injured after being swarmed by a group of teenagers in Dartmouth. A man in his 30’s was walking near Victoria Road and Nantucket Avenue last Friday night when he was approached by a group of youths who asked if he had money, cigarettes, or marijuana. When he said no he was assaulted and stabbed with a knife. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
