Cloudy this morning with a chance of showers but the sun should come out by this afternoon and feel like 28 with humidity.


Shots were fired at a house in the north end of Halifax last night around 11:30. Two people managed to escape the house safely, which was at the corner of Duffus Street and Jarvis Lane. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

William Sandeson has been found guilty of first degree murder. The charge carries an automatic life sentence without eligibility for parole for 25 years. 24 year old Sandeson was on trial for the death of Taylor Samson, a fellow Dalhousie University student who’s body has never been found.

A suspicious death on Hastings Drive in Dartmouth on Friday has been ruled as a homicide. The victim was 35 year old Nadia Gonzales of Dartmouth. Charged in the death are 23 year old Calvin Sparks and 19 year old Samanda Ritch.
