The jury in the William Sandeson murder trial spent 3.5 hours deliberating with the judge in the case yesterday. The judge told the jurors they should come to a verdict “without sympathy, prejudice or fear.” And that their decision must be unanimous. Sandeson has pleaded not guilty in the August 2015 death of fellow Dalhousie University student Taylor Samson.


A 20 year old woman is dead after being hit by a train in Bedford. The woman was walking on the tracks near Rocky Lake Drive around 9AM when she was hit by a Halifax-bound train. The woman’s name will not be released.



A 40 year old math teacher at Sydney Academy high school in Cape Breton has been charged with 3 counts of child luring. Jason Pentecost is alleged to have committed the offences between February & June of this year with 2 teenage girls. He is forbidden from contacting the victims and he is not to go within 150 metres of any high school in Nova Scotia.



Jays were off. They play the Chicago White Sox this weekend.


Jonathan Drouin was acquired by Montreal from Tampa Bay signing a 6 year 33 million dollar deal.
