A man’s death at a continuing care facility in Beaver Bank has been ruled as a homicide. At the Ivy Meadows nursing home in October of last year, a 79 year old man received a head injury after he was pushed by another resident. He died from his injury 3 days later. The woman who pushed the man had severe dementia.

The body of a 20 year old man who went missing while swimming in Penhorn Lake on Tuesday has been recovered. He was located about 3 metres under water near a public beach. His name will not be released.

Arthur Joseph LeBlanc, a longtime justice of the Nova Scotia Supreme Court, has been appointed as the province’s new¬†lieutenant-governor. LeBlanc is from Cape Breton and a graduate of St. FX University. The date of his swearing-in ceremony has yet to be announced.
