A 60 year old man from Debert has died after he was shot by his friend in a hunting accident on Monday. Police were called to a wooded area where the 2 men were hunting deer in Belmont around 5:00PM. Both men were not wearing hunters’ orange.


A 15 year old boy is facing charges after a knife attack on another 15 year old boy in Fall River on Monday. Around 12:15PM police were called to a wooded area on Lockview Road. When officers arrived they arrested the suspect and he’s now scheduled for court.


2 Nova Scotia women received the Order of Canada yesterday in Ottawa. Jocelyn Downie, a Dal law professor, was recognized for helping frame the way Canada treats people who want a medically assisted death. Elizabeth Cromwell, the founder of the Black Loyalist Heritage Society, was recognized for helping preserve and promote black history.
