If you saw flares and heard helicopters early this morning emergency officials are searching near Devils Island at the mouth of Halifax Harbour. Two people are doing okay after they were rescued from a sunken 40 foot diving boat. Multiple vessels from the Canadian Coast Guard & the Royal Canadian Navy as well as a naval dive team are involved in the search for a third person. This is a developing story.

Police are searching for a heavy set man with a large beard and a Band-Aid under his eye who robbed a Dartmouth bank yesterday morning. Officers were called to the robbery at the Bank of Montreal on Baker Drive around 10:30AM. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or crime stoppers.

Two Nova Scotian girls have become published authors thanks to a Halifax bookstore. 10 year old Alice Roebotham & 13 year old Aliyah Lailson were ecstatic to find out they’d each won a writing competition at Woozles. In honour of 40 years in business, Woozles decided to turn the winning stories into actual books.
