A 58 year old man died in hospital last night after he was hit by an SUV in New Glasgow. The collision was reported around 7:00PM. Police believe the man was not in a crosswalk when he travelled across East River Road when he was hit.


A Boeing 747 cargo jet that overshot the runway at the Halifax airport almost 2 weeks ago has been dismantled. The plane arrived in Halifax from Chicago on November 7th to pick up lobster destined for China. The runway is likely to reopen tomorrow.


A Former Halifax deputy mayor, Liberal cabinet minister, city councillor and MLA, Gerald O’Malley, has died. O’Malley spent 18 years as a politician in Nova Scotia.
He would have celebrated his 91st birthday next week.
