An NDP candidate in Dartmouth has stepped out of his running due to inappropriate statements he made on social media in the past. Dartmouth East candidate Bill McEwen says he regrets his behaviour and wants to take responsibility for his actions. It was only a week ago the Liberals dropped Pictou East candidate Matt MacKnight over inappropriate social media commentary.

Yesterday the jury in William Sandeson’s first degree murder trial saw Sandeson’s phone records. The records show that his phone was used in Truro days after Taylor Samson was reported missing. Sandeson’s family has property in Lower Truro, which was searched after his arrest, but nothing was found.

In his most recent speech, NDP Leader Gary Burrill has embraced deficits. If elected, he says his party is promising to run deficits through the first mandate. Burrill launched the platform yesterday at Dalhousie University’s Student Union Building.
