4 bystanders used a muffler to break the windows of a burning vehicle to save the driver inside on Saturday morning in Upper Rawdon. When the bystanders heard the vehicle spin out of control on Highway 14 they hurried over to help the 30 year old male driver. He was airlifted to hospital in Halifax with serious injuries.

Police are investigating after a Canadian Coast Guard ship was released from its cradle, submerging it into the water, at a shipyard in Sambro Head. Police say the suspects cut the cradle cables and the safety chains. The vessel is now at the shipyard for a refit.

A 27 year old man has been arrested after he robbed the Shoppers Drug Mart on Joseph Howe Drive last night. The man gestured as if he had a firearm in his jacket, demanding pills from the pharmacist before running off. He was later arrested on Victoria Road in Dartmouth.
