2 people have died in separate car crashes after they both drove off roads and hit trees. One crash happened on Highway 224 in Colchester County around 4:00PM yesterday. The male driver died in hospital. A few hours later, a woman lost control on highway 217 in Digby County. She died at the scene. Police are investigating into the causes of the crashes.


A former Dalhousie University track team mate of William Sandeson testified at his first-degree murder trial yesterday in Halifax. Justin Blades says on the night Taylor Samson went missing, William was seen rushing around his apartment trying to clean up pints of blood off his kitchen floor. Taylor’s body has never been found.


Yesterday PC leader Jamie Baillie launched the party’s platform. The Tories say they will do better than the Liberals in rooting out waste in health administration, driving a harder bargain in negotiating contracts and fueling economic growth to deliver balanced budgets for the next 4 years.
