Police are investigating a robbery that happened in a taxi late last night on Young Street. After pretending to be a customer, the male suspect pulled out a knife, held it to the driver’s throat & demanded money before running off. The suspect is described as a white man with black hair, over 6 feet tall and around 25 years old. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.


An RCMP doctor accused of dozens of sexual assaults dating back decades will not face any charges. The allegations against the doctor claim that he used his position with the RCMP to assault women & men at the RCMP health services office in the Halifax area. About 40 people accused the RCMP doctor of assault but police say they didn’t find evidence to support charges against him.


A man driving a motorcycle died in a crash yesterday in Annapolis County. He was the only vehicle involved in the accident that happened around 6PM on Highway 1 in Belleisle. Police are investigating into the cause of the crash.


The World Acadian Congress is coming back to Nova Scotia in 2024. The event will be held in the Acadian communities of Clare & Argyle from August 10th-18th. The congress is held once every 5 years and allows families of Acadian descent to reunite with relatives.
