A 72 year old man from Lower Sackville has died after he went fishing at Dollar Lake Provincial Park on Saturday night. His body was found in the water early Sunday morning. An autopsy will be performed in the coming days.


Police are asking witnesses to come forward after an altercation that happened outside a Halifax bar back on Friday night that put a man in hospital with life threatening injuries. Officials received a call just after midnight about the altercation outside Reflections on Salter Street. The victim, a 23 year old man from Halifax, is suffering from a head injury.


A container ship that caught fire in January in the middle of the ocean finally arrived at its Halifax destination yesterday after spending almost 4 months in the Bahamas. 260 containers were destroyed by the fire that burned for several days on the Yantian Express. When the fire broke out the entire crew was evacuated onto other ships. No injuries were reported.
