Captain Maxime Fortier won’t be the only Mooseheads players wearing a letter when the team visits the Acadie-Bathurst Titan tonight.
Head Coach Jim Midgley announced Tuesday that fifth-year forward Connor Moynihan and 19-year-old forward Otto Somppi have been named as the Mooseheads Alternate Captains for the 2017-18 season.
Moynihan sits eighth in games played in franchise history after being drafted 92nd overall by Halifax in the 2013 QMJHL Entry Draft. The Windham, NH native has 93 points and 357 penalty minutes in his Mooseheads career. Somppi is entering his third season with Halifax and is a prospect of the Tampa Bay Lightning. The center from Helsinki, Finland is currently recovering from shoulder surgery but is nearing a return to action. Somppi was a first round CHL Import pick of the Mooseheads in 2015 and has scored 87 points in 119 career games.
