I need advice about what to do about my daughter’s grades. First off, I’m a single mom and work a full time and part time job. I put a lot of faith on my teenage daughter that she’s doing what she’s supposed to be doing. The start of the year saw great marks in all subjects, not to to brag but she was making high 80’s to 90’s. This last term most marks dropped to the 60’s and 70’s.
I’m a little worried this could continue and her marks won’t recover. I’m really not sure how to handle this; Do I take away her phone privileges? do I ground her? limit social aspects of her life?
She said she’s going to work hard to get the marks back but I want to make sure she stays on track. Any advice you muster up is greatly appreciated.
My advice, limit time spent in front a screen. I fear for this coming generation and their addiction to phones.
Personally, I don’t think this is terrible. It’s a slight stumble, not a full on faceplant. I made a few of those in school! From what you’ve written, it seems like she’s concerned as well. I understand it may be difficult with two jobs, but a schedule of work and seeing first hand what she’s working on in school might keep everything on track.
