Crayola has announced that it is retiring a color from its 24 count crayon box for the first time in 100 years. TIME magazine reports that the Pennsylvania based company has yet to reveal which color will be removed from the box, but will make the big announcement during a live-stream this Friday. Crayola has also been encouraging individuals to share images of the color they can’t live without on social media, accompanied by the hashtag #WhosLeaving, ahead of the decision. The current colors that make up a Crayola box are red, yellow, blue, brown, orange, green, violet, black, carnation pink, yellow orange, blue green, red violet, red orange, yellow green, blue violet, white, violet red, dandelion, cerulean, apricot, scarlet, green yellow, indigo and gray.
I could live without the apricot color. But I am still so confused as to why the Crayola is doing this? If there is only 23 colors then the symmetry in the box will be off. MY ADD IS KICKING IN LOL. Seriously though! Maybe they are adding another color in place of one? Only time will tell! Looking forward to watching their live stream on Friday!
