Some of the top names in Canadian country music and over 30 current and former NHL players were on stage back on Friday evening in Saskatoon for the Humboldt Broncos tribute concert.
Juno-award winners Dallas Smith, Brett Kissel, Jess Moskaluke and Gord Bamford were among the performers. Also taking part are Chad Brownlee and the Hunter Brothers.
More than 10,000 gathered to pack the rink in Saskatoon.
Some of the NHL’ers included: Brian Trottier who joined Brett Kissel on stage for a cover of Merle Haggard’s “Working Man Blues.” Also in attendance were Mike Modano, Joe Sakic, Shane Doan, Colby Armstrong, Paul Coffey and many more.
The Country Thunder Music Festival said it expected to raise $900,000 from the concert with a portion to be donated to the families of the bus crash victims.
