Chris Stapleton Leading CMA Nominations

Chris Stapleton is the leading contender heading into the 2018 CMA Awards. On Tuesday, the country crooner received a pack-leading five nods for this year’s awards, including Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Single and Song of the Year for “Broken Halos,” and Album of the Year for From a Room, Vol. 2.

Nominees in several major categories were announced on Good Morning America, which broadcast live from Luke Bryan’s new downtown Nashville venue, 32 Bridge Food + Drink. Bryan–who found out he’s up for Entertainer of the Year–revealed the nominees alongside Sugarland and Dan + Shay, who will battle for Vocal Duo of the Year. Dan + Shay’s “Tequila” is also up for Song, Single and Music Video of the Year, while Sugarland snagged a Music Video of the Year nod for their “Babe” visual, which co-stars Taylor Swift. Other artists with multiple nominations include Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert and Keith Urban, all of whom walked away with three nods.

The 2018 CMA Awards will air live from Nashville on November 14 starting at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, with Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley once again returning as hosts.
